Bart DeLorenzo is a Los Angeles-based theater director and the founding artistic director of the Evidence Room Theater.
His recent work includes productions at the Odyssey Theatre, Geffen Playhouse, Center Theater Group, South Coast Repertory, Pittsburgh’s City Theater, the Cleveland Playhouse, LATC, the Ensemble Theatre of Santa Barbara, East West Players, Theater of NOTE, Rogue Machine, A Noise Within, Antaeus, Skylight Theatre, and off-Broadway with The New Group – including world premieres by Sandra Tsing Loh, Jacqueline Wright, Carla Ching, Alessandro Camon, Jonathan Caren, Annabelle Gurwitch, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Justin Tanner, Michael Sargent, Peter J. Nieves, Kelly Stuart, Joan Rivers, and Donald Margulies.
He has directed over 80 plays around the country and has participated in the development of new works at the Ojai Playwrights Conference, SCR’s Pacific Playwrights Festival, O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, the Perry-Mansfield New Works Festival, and the Mark Taper Forum’s New Work Festival, among others. He has directed many live radio performances for LA Theater Works.
For his work, he has received LA Weekly awards, Backstage Garlands, LA Drama Critics Circle awards including the Milton Katselas Award for career achievement, and TCG’s Alan Schneider Director Award. He is a graduate of Yale University and the American Repertory Theater Institute at Harvard.
