She has worked in many facets of the entertainment and design industry – from themed entertainment, film, publication, and branding. Originally hailing from Ohio, received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Graphic Design from the University of Cincinnati: Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning Program. While attending the University of Cincinnati, she participated in the Co-op program that afforded her professional experience at branding and environmental graphic design firms such as Landor Associates and Jack Rouse Associates. In 2014 Amber received her Master of Art Degree in Scenic Design from California Institute of the Arts. Shortly after graduation, she began working at Walt Disney Imagineering. While at Imagineering, she worked on various Blue Sky conceptual pitches and various themed entertainment attractions. She developed large scale UV ink printed production art for attractions such as Shanghai Disneyland's Peter Pan's Flight, Animal Kingdom's Avatar Na'vi River Journey, Disneyland California Adventure's Pixar Pier Game Kiosks, and Disney World Hollywood Studios' Mickey’s Runaway Railway. She created large scale production art and painted themed attraction models for an upcoming Tokyo Disneyland Frozen attraction. While at Disney, Amber facilitated the Walt Disney Imagineering CalArts Educational Initiative under Michael Jung, the program's creator.
In addition to her time at Walt Disney Imagineering, Amber has worked at various other entertainment and publication companies such as Amazon, Paramount Pictures, and LA magazine. She is also experienced in freelancing as a concept artist, production designer, photographer, and graphic artist for various independent films, theater productions, and immersive experiences. She recently was production designing an innovative Augmented Reality experience with the team of fellow CalArts alums at Nightlight Labs, which has been postponed indefinitely pending the pandemic. Currently, Amber is working at the nonprofit Motion Picture Television Fund as a marketing designer, developing campaigns to help support the wellness needs of the entertainment community. By the end of 2021, she will be launching a paper-costume and play company with fellow CalArts alum Stephanie Petagno and DAAP alum Sean Duffy.
