Alex Dawson

Alex Dawson began teaching yoga in 2002 for Kathleen Turner and the cast of The Graduate on Broadway in NYC. Alex’s classes have been described as “transformative, healing, fun, and deceptively challenging.” She did her 200 hour teacher training at Sonic Yoga in New York and was influenced by many Jivamukti and Om teachers back in the day. Since then, Alex deepened her study with Schuyler Grant (vinyasa), Lauren Waggoner (sound healing), Tony Khalife (bhakti), and currently with Lisa Wallford (Iyengar). Alex completed a 2-year Mindful Meditation certification with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.

There is a real transformation in her classes – a return to the Flow State, while bringing in clear alignment, and always grounding in breath. Alex sees yoga as a healing science and brings in crystal quartz alchemy bowls to savasana, reiki in her touch, and chanting to awaken the spirit of the heart.

Alex has led retreats worldwide (Bali, Italy, Paris, Israel, Mexico, Hawaii, California) and taught at numerous Wanderlust Festivals, including one in Romania this fall. She is passionate about her signature Yoga Body Cleanse online program, the many ways we can come together as a community, and her dog Rumi. Alex has an EP titled Om Mani Padme Hum on Spotify and Apple Music.  Off the mat, Alex starred in the New York Times featured web series Namaste, Bitches, but she swears, “it’s not like that, y’all.”
