Babette Markus

Babette Markus currently teaches the Alexander Technique to both graduate students and undergrads in the School of Theatre at both the University of Southern California and California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, where she has also taught in the Schools of Music and Dance. She has taught Alexander Technique at UCLA Extension and in private practice for many years. She holds a degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Certificate from the American Center for the Alexander Technique (ACAT), New York City. In 2007 she completed a post-graduate course through ACAT, The Art of Breathing, taught by Jessica Wolf of Yale University. She is past President of the American Center for the Alexander Technique, West, and is a member of AMSAT, the American Society for Teachers of the Alexander Technique. She has served as member of the Board of Directors, Faculty, and president of the Alexander Training Institute of Los Angeles, where she and her colleagues she have trained over 60 individuals to become certified teachers of the Alexander Technique.
