Our 9th Season on the Fringe
Program Dates: July 20 to Aug. 20, 2012

The CalArts Theater School welcomes your interest in the CalArts Festival Theater Edinburgh Program. CalArts Festival Theater participants have had an incredible experience over the last eight summers participating in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. This summer program of the CalArts School of Theater will travel a group of student performers, designers, technicians and faculty to perform in and experience the Edinburgh Theatre Festival Fringe, held annually each August in Edinburgh, Scotland. With the continued support of the Theater School, we will maintain our performance alliance with the Royal Welsh Academy of Music and Drama.

For the past eight summers we have formed a performance company and jointly presented work at Venue 13 during this amazing arts festival. The goal of the of the CalArts Festival Theater Edinburgh Program involves continued professional enrichment for our students and faculty in this very special arts festival setting. Our documented success each year provides service to the Institute by exposing the CalArts Theater brand to the international emerging artists scene. The Edinburgh International Festival in Scotland is over sixty years old and each August, Edinburgh becomes the world’s Festival City. The vast range and number of artistic events, performances and exhibitions taking place throughout the city makes this summer festival experience in Edinburgh unforgettable.
